Baked Brie with Honey-Balsamic Strawberries

Looking for a quick and delicious appetizer? This baked brie topped with honey-balsamic strawberries and fresh basil is perfect for any gathering.

 

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) balsamic vinegar
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) honey
  • 200 g (1 ½ cups) quartered strawberries
  • Kosher salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 225 g (8 oz) wheel of brie cheese
  • 6 torn basil leaves
  • Walnut (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Place the brie on a baking sheet or in a small cast iron skillet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until softened. Let it cool for 5 minutes. (top with optional walnuts)
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Add the strawberries and cook for another 3 minutes until they are softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve the warm brie topped with the strawberry mixture and fresh basil. Pair with crackers or a baguette.
